Moyshe Rabeynu (Moishe Rabeinu) Yiddish theater song from the operetta "Yom Hakhupe"

Moyshe Rabeynu, Moishe Rabeinu, famous table songAt the top of the page it says "by Louis Gilrod and Otto Motzan" (also Motzon and Matzon). The title is also sometimes spelled Moshe Rabbeinu.

Strangely, halfway down the cover it says "Music by Broidy & Friedsel, words by Solomon Small."

We see here that it was in the 1911 show "Wedding Day" (Yom Hakhupe) at Kessler's Lyric Theater.

Unlike most of the songs I've posted here, this one would work well for a Jewish chorus. If I still directed the Triangle Jewish Chorale, I'd do this song with them.

Here's my version from yesterday. I included the transliteration at the request of a viewer. It should be educational for all who try to search for Yiddish titles on the web. Just get a load of how German the spelling is. (Click below)

Here is a more conventional transliteration:
In Mitzrayim gor on a tsol hot dos gantse folk Yisroel
