Mayn vayb shlept zikh mit - sung by Abraham Moscowitz

As you see, it's from the 1922 musical Der rebe hot geheysen freylekh zayn (The rebbe says get happy). It was written by Isidore Lillian and Joseph Rumshinsky.

On eBay I saw an Odeon recording by S. Stramer.
Here I have used Abraham Moscowitz (Abraham Moskowitz) recording. He's been on the blog several times before, use the search box and check him out.

I've only transliterated and translated the two verses Moscowitz sings (after the jump). If you want the rest, just email me.

God's blessed me with a wife and wherever I go
My wife drags herself along with me.
Nobody's seen me outside walking alone,
My wife drags herself along with me.
When I go to a meeting of the lodge or union
My woman just comes dragging along, you should know...
I fight with the chairman, I'm taken to jail,
My wife drags herself along with me.
My wife drags herself along with me,
She doesn't let up and I can't get rid of her
My wife drags herself along with me,
Wherever I go, she comes along.
A Ford auto comes by us, her skirt gets snagged,
My wife drags along with me.
Wonder why I want to go to hell after I die?
My wife drags along with me.
I once decided I had to get away from her.
I sat on a train and thought, now I don't have to give a damn about her
The train started up and who do I see nearby?
My wife drags along with me.
